bug that lasts almost 10 years

Post by jajagi »

it's already been asked from user a decade ago.

https://akelpad.sourceforge.net/forum/v ... php?t=1455

english speakers would find it hard to understand this so I will give you further detail.

my mother language is korean and it has its own writing system.

one syllable consists of 2 to 5 of consonants and vowels as combinations:

ㄱ + ㅏ = 가
ㄱ + ㅗ + ㅏ + ㄹ + ㄱ = 괅

as you know, when you made typing error, easiest method to correct the error is pressing backspace all the way to where it started.

and in latin alphabet, this is not the issue. you can just remove them one by one, while the caret moves one space left accordingly.

but korean alphabet(hangul) works completely differently.

for the above case, let's say I just finished typing 가 and I have to remove this.

then I have to press backspace twice since it it has actually 2 letters in it.
It's ok. But when it's done, it leaves the residue "" , the short arrow where 가 was located.

no other text editing programs I've ever used have this issue but akelpad.

any help plz? other than this all is well and I love akelpad. It is freaking good it supports multitab.
