Brazilian translation and a suggestion

Hello

I'd like to translate AkelPad to Brazilian Portuguese. I've already translated some programs, for example:
www.nvda-project.org

However, it uses the GNU Gettext .PO catalog files, see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gettext

It would be nice if AkelPad adopted Gettext for translation. Although I know the basics of programming, I don't know C++. I can try to understand the english.rc's sintax, but I'm not sure I'll be able to put the translated strings in the correct places, and I guess there are more people in the same siptuation...

Besides english.rc, is there another file I should translate?

Thanks,

This is easy to translate. First is section "Menu", strings quoted with " symbol.

Code: Select all

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
//
// Menu
//
then in "Dialog"

Code: Select all

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
//
// Dialog
//
and in "String Table"

Code: Select all

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
//
// String Table
//
or I can send you a package for visual editing .RC files.

Thanks

I think I have succeeded translating English.rc. I'll be sending it to you by e-mail.

Cheers,

The group Translate.org.za has a rudimentary RC2PO (and PO2RC obviously), but it was designed specifically for WINE, and so far it does not work with Akelpad's RC file. I submitted a bug to them but I don't know what priority RC is to them at this stage.
