Hence, AkelPad latency is on a par with Notepad++ and SublimeText, which is better than average, yet both GVim and IntelliJ IDEA (in zero-latency mode) can be faster than that.
All the latency trends reveal linear dependency of editor algorithms on character horizontal position. There’s probably an excessive painting performed, as the latency is much lower when editor window is not maximized.
The folding panel drastically degrades the performance (typing lag is clearly perceivable “with naked eye” when the panel is enabled).
