If you want to open more that 1Gb unicode file or more that 500Mb multibyte file, use x64 version of AkelPad.

AkelPad X64 uses a lot of RAM (3 ... 5 GB) when opening files <1 GB ... 1.8 GB
AkelPad - Do not use advanced "BETTER?" technologies and reduce the consumption of RAM?

For comparison: Other programs use very little RAM as allocate additional memory on 'temp'. SSD / HDD but still the application works fast and stable

Example:
Other Editor: 29 MB RAM = 1,8 GB UTF-16 LE-TXT file

=========

AkelPad not responding(HANG) a REPLACE of names.

AkelPad use 4.5 GB RAM and high CPU usage 25%
1,8 GB TXT file

AkelPad uses system API calls to allocate memory and system memory manager decide to give memory from RAM or from swap. If you believe that program should use HDD in first place, then use "Other Editor" that fit your needs.

1. When you make replacement in very big file, set "Undo limit" in settings to zero. For fast changing you can use ReplaceNoUndo.js.
2. Turn off RegExp option if it not needed.
