Hello
I'd like to translate AkelPad to Brazilian Portuguese. I've already translated some programs, for example:
www.nvda-project.org
However, it uses the GNU Gettext .PO catalog files, see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gettext
It would be nice if AkelPad adopted Gettext for translation. Although I know the basics of programming, I don't know C++. I can try to understand the english.rc's sintax, but I'm not sure I'll be able to put the translated strings in the correct places, and I guess there are more people in the same siptuation...
Besides english.rc, is there another file I should translate?
Thanks,
Brazilian translation and a suggestion

This is easy to translate. First is section "Menu", strings quoted with " symbol.
then in "Dialog"
and in "String Table"
or I can send you a package for visual editing .RC files.
Code: Select all
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
//
// Menu
//
Code: Select all
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
//
// Dialog
//
Code: Select all
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
//
// String Table
//

Re: Brazilian translation and a suggestion
The group Translate.org.za has a rudimentary RC2PO (and PO2RC obviously), but it was designed specifically for WINE, and so far it does not work with Akelpad's RC file. I submitted a bug to them but I don't know what priority RC is to them at this stage.klev wrote:It would be nice if AkelPad adopted Gettext for translation.
