WordWrap vs. font size change

Post by SaFeTyPe »

EDIT: Please ignore posting. I just realized that changing the font size causes disproportional effects WITHIN fonts. I.e., when I switch from 9pt to 10pt, I can add within one 16 space area:
- 0 additional spaces (of course!)
- 0 "."
- 2 additional "_" (2 instead of expected 0)
- 4 additional "i" (instead of 0)
- 1 a
- 4 l
- 0 W
- 2 /

Perhaps that's of interest for some, so I leave this posting here.

Hello,

I have set WordWrap to "by words, limit 190".

I am using Segoe UI, 10 pt and sometimes 9 pt.

When I change from 10 to 9, all my texts are messed up because the limit does not change in correct proportion. (When I set to 9, the limit is too much to the left (to little space for text). This causes the "comb quoting" effect in texts that have a new-line/return after every line (for example text portions that are indented with tabs).

Why does the limit not work in proportion, for example by utilizing SPACES as measures? Tabs (which I have set to 16) work perfectly after a font size change. Tabs are defined by spaces in AkelPad. Accordingly, word wrap limit should be determined the same way. That would solve the problem.
